ENGAGE Awards 2017

The ENGAGE awards are designed to acknowledge DigitalGlobe partners who have demonstrated exceptional value delivered to customers. Entries were submitted by partners ahead of the ENGAGE event, and we had an incredible response.

As a result, DigitalGlobe shortlisted 12 finalists from which 5 partners were awarded, recognizing powerful use cases and with each award the recipient received $10,000 worth of DigitalGlobe archive imagery.

We would like to thank everyone who submitted entries, we had a number of excellent submissions.

Get to know them:


LuxCarta has been doing extensive work in the telecommunications market. The company helped an telecommunications operator update their network to an all IP-based 4G system which allowed them to stay competitive in their marketplace. LuxCarta provided data derived from WorldView-1 & 2 imagery, which allowed the customer to efficiently deploy to 350 sites around the city they operate, even after two years, the service is still saving money for the customer.

Hatfield Consultants Africa

Hatfield Consultants Africa has helped the National Mapping Survey of Botswana keep their map series up-to-date. Despite Botswana being a country severely impacted by budget constraints, Hatfield helped their customer overcome their challenges by updating the map series in sections. This was done by ordering high resolution imagery in line with budgetary cycles and introducing DigitalGlobe Global Basemap to provide Botswana the ability to conduct nationwide map updates. Flexible licensing also allowed the capture of demographic information for projects such as rural electrification, election mapping, water supply and housing.

GIS Terra

Growing from the Russian Academy of Sciences and with extensive field experience throughout central Asia, GIS Terra is leading the adoption of WorldView-3 SWIR spectral data to unlock hidden natural resources in Kazakhstan. Their understanding of the unique power of SWIR to detect economic minerals, combined with practical remote sensing analysis capability, and connections to regional mineral exploration companies, has resulted in pointing in the direction toward likely gold deposits.

Vekom Geo

*Vekom Geo could not make it to the event due to other commitments. Adrian Zevenbergen, Managing Director of European Space Imaging accepted the award on their behalf.

This partner has helped their customer with mass assessment and monitoring of change for the Republic of Serbia, leveraging data collected from GeoEye1, WorldView-2, and WorldView-3, providing best in class 30cm and 40cm imagery, updating the entire cadastre map for the country and leveraged by multiple government agencies.

ER Solutions

ER Solutions provided a high resolution Digital Elevation Model to be leveraged by the regional civil authorities for the second largest city in Pakistan, Lahore which have adopted the model to coordinate development projects on Water Supply and the National Engineering Services in Pakistan and is now to going to be used in the regional Integrated Strategic Development Plan managed by the Lahore Development Authority.
